For this case study, we will explore Rockwell Automation, a leading global manufacturer of Industrial Automation products, manufacturing automation systems and drives. Rockwell Automation supplies its products to industry through a global network of specialist distributors and partners.  These organisations collaborate as part of the worldwide Automation Partner Ecosystem delivering proven integrated solutions that enhance the quality and design of implementation projects.

Rockwell Automations is committed to the development of their partner network, enhancing sales operations and performance. They seek to drive an ongoing improvement in sales management through information sharing and data intelligence.  A major innovation in this area is the adoption of an Intelligent Business AI platform provided by Aspurian.  This software provides sales teams within Rockwell and its partners access to real-time sales analysis and forecasting data improving decision making and targeting.

The Challenge

Rockwell Automation sought to improve communication with its partner network through the sharing of sales data in local markets within the sales team structure.  This would enable a more collaborative approach to sales targeting and sales initiatives. A key obstacle was the wide array of business sales systems used within the partner network leading to challenges in data consistency and structure.  This resulted in reduced access to key sales and order information being available for review.  A lack of visibility impacted on the pace at which sales initiatives could be implemented and managed slowing the sales acquisition process.

Their goal was to implement a secure platform that would provide a data agnostic approach to system integration providing a greater scope for data sharing from partners.  The desired system needed to provide a web-based portal providing accurate and insightful sales data to teams within Rockwell and the supplying partner. A true globalisation platform was needed supporting multiple currencies and languages whilst be responsive to changing needs and requirements.

The Solution

Through our close partnership, we gained a deep understanding of Rockwell Automation’s requirements, enabling us to provide an intelligent business platform customised to the specific needs of the solution.  Version 4 of the software was implemented in March 2020 and an ongoing integration roll out has led to data being ingested from 27 markets around the world with over two billion dollars of data being managed actively through the platform. By utilising the latest in AI techniques, we are able to deliver real insights in sales analysis and opportunity identification.

Previously sales data from territories around the world were distributed manually and were often delayed in production and circulation.  As a result of the new solution, Rockwell Automation were able to engage in a more agile posture in respect of trends and sales target management.

The system has become an essential management tool for sales management and partner relations across the world. To ensure optimal performance and security, we built the platform on a robust scalable architecture hosted within our dedicated infrastructure.
